Both TLX engines are turbocharged — the 2.0-liter four and the Type S 3.0-liter V6 — so oil service on schedule with full-synthetic oil is the priority item. Owners who drive the car hard will see the Maintenance Minder call for service noticeably sooner than a highway commuter, and that is the system working as designed.
Type S models use Brembo front brakes, which require the correct friction compound and proper bed-in to perform and stay quiet. This is not a component to fit with generic aftermarket pads.

If you bought a Type S, you did not buy it to commute gently. That is entirely reasonable — but it changes the service picture, and pretending otherwise costs owners money.
Brakes wear on a curve, not a line. Hard braking generates far more heat than gentle braking, and heat is what consumes pad material and induces rotor thickness variation. A Type S driven enthusiastically can need front brake service in a fraction of the mileage a commuter TLX would. We measure and report actual pad thickness in millimeters at every visit so you can see the trend rather than guess.
Brake fluid matters more here. Fluid absorbs moisture over time, and moisture lowers the boiling point. Under sustained hard braking, that is the difference between a firm pedal and a long one. Acura specifies replacement every 3 years regardless of mileage — on a Type S, treat that as a floor.
Tires are a consumable, and a fast one. Performance fitments trade tread life for grip. Combined with SH-AWD's requirement that all four tires match, that means budgeting for full sets rather than pairs.

The TLX uses Acura's Maintenance Minder rather than fixed mileage intervals. The system calculates remaining oil life from actual driving conditions and displays a main code plus sub-codes. Schedule when remaining oil life reaches 15 percent, and do not let it reach zero.
Routine maintenance performed elsewhere does not automatically void your Acura warranty under federal law. However, warranty repairs and open safety recalls can only be performed by an authorized Acura dealer, and required maintenance must be documented as completed on schedule with correct-specification parts and fluids.
